OVERVIEW View Conference Agenda
The role of Scotland's engineering and manufacturing companies in delivering employment, growth and raised productivity across the country is critically important.
The Scottish Engineering Conference provides a platform for Scotland's engineering and manufacturing sector to set out its agenda for success. The conference will discuss what engineering and manufacturing needs, examine what is required to minimise risk and maximise opportunity in an uncertain national and international marketplace and consider how finance, funding and policy can best support success across the sector.
The conference programme examines core themes determining the capacity of the manufacturing engineering sector to thrive and grow including skills, productivity, connectivity, access to markets, compliance, regulation, finance, investment and broader government policy.
What approach is needed from both governments to support the discrete needs of Scottish companies and to nurture the broader health of the Scottish manufacturing engineering sector? How can sector partners work best to remove obstacles and build pathways to growth? As Brexit develops, what are the critical factors in minimising uncertainty, ensuring access to markets, creating export opportunity and delivering competitiveness?
The conference is aimed at all partners in Scotland's manufacturing engineering economy including manufacturing engineering companies, government agencies, policy makers, professional advisory specialists, the engineering supply chain, economic development and local government officers and business finance and investment interests.
