OVERVIEW View Conference Agenda

ACES 2013 will mark the 6th year of our prestigious annual conference for Executive PAs and Secretaries in Scotland. This one day event not only provides essential training, but also offers valuable networking and a much appreciated ‘relax and  pamper’ session along with the exciting award and prizes for the ‘Scottish PA of the Year’. This is a date not to be missed for any PA in Scotland!

The event is ideal for anyone working as a PA, executive secretary, office manager or in an administrative role in Scotland.  It offers excellent value for money because it delivers a wide range of essential training and development in one day, making it the must-attend event of the year.  Our event aims to provide a quality, constructive, interactive, relevant and inspiring programme which gives delegates the information and skills they need to cope with the challenges they face in what is widely recognised as being an ever changing environment.

Keynote Speaker

We are delighted to have Annabel Goldie MSP as our keynote speaker for 2013. Annabel, former leader of the Conservative Party in Scotland, has been a well-respected public figure for a number of years and is known for her sense of humour. She has been praised for her ‘no-nonsense’ approach to leadership and was noted for saying "I think you may take it matron's handbag will be in hyper-action”. Her presentation at ACES 2013 will focus on her experience of being a woman leader in the world of both business and politics. This is a presentation not to be missed.

ACES/Hays Scottish PA of the Year Award 2013

Hays, Lead SponsorThe conference will close with the presentation to the lucky winner of the ACES/Hays Scottish PA of the Year Award 2013. This award is all about recognising and rewarding the excellence of an individual - someone who goes above and beyond the call of duty and strives for excellence at work.

We would like to hear from as wide a range of entrants as possible and the winner will recieve their award along with a collection of great prizes.

Deadline for nominations is 26th April 2013.

It was my first time at a conference as a delegate and I have to say I was VERY impressed. I will be highly recommending this event to contacts both internal and external to the University. The speakers were all excellent and inspirational and I look forward to seeing the presentations in due course. I liked the feel of the day, it was relaxed and the chance to mingle with others was helpful, not only during the group discussion but also in the market place. Afterwards I wrote down 10 points which were either learned or reinforced and 10 action points for self-development – so as you can see I found it to be very useful as well as enjoyable.
