Child Welfare in a Digital Age
At CHILDREN 1ST we listen, we support and we take action to secure a brighter future for vulnerable children and families in Scotland. Our work is founded on over 125 years as the RSSPCC. We deliver services in homes and communities across Scotland. We work to safeguard children and young people, to support them within their families and to help them recover from abuse, neglect and violence. We speak out for children’s rights and campaign to change attitudes.
WithScotland supports child protection practice, policy and research. We connect research with practice, exchange knowledge and ideas and coordinate activities across Child Protection Committees and are also developing links between child protection and adult protection in Scotland. At the heart of WithScotland is the principle of improving outcomes for children in need of care and protection and adults at risk of harm by working in partnership and facilitating access to expertise across Scotland.
WithScotland is hosted by The University of Stirling and funded by local authorities, Police Service Scotland, NHS and Scottish Government. Watch a short video about us / view news and information updates for practice or get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org to see how we can help you.
Young Scot is the national youth information and citizenship charity for Scotland. We provide young people, aged 11 - 26, with a mixture of information, ideas and opportunities to help them become confident, informed and active citizens. We do this in a variety of formats, including websites, apps, social media, magazines, phone, outreach, etc, so young people can access information in a way they are comfortable with.
It is our hope that the information we provide will enable young people to:
- Make informed decisions and choices
- Turn their ideas into action
- Take advantage of the opportunities available to them in Scotland and the rest of Europe
- Have the confidence and knowledge to take their place as active citizens in their communities- locally, nationally and globally

This was an interactive seminar with Q&A and time to share thoughts and ideas. It was a nice mixture of professionals and good to hear from the various agencies. An excellent seminar, well put together and all relevant.
