Bailie Cameron assumed her current role as Executive Member of Development and Regeneration Services in June 2010. Her remit in Development and Regeneration Services is extremely wide, encompassing Housing Regeneration, City Planning, Sustainability, Creative Industries and, crucially Economic Regeneration and Social Initiatives.
She is currently serving as vice chair to the Principal of Strathclyde University on the Glasgow Joint Economic Commission. She serves on many cultural and artistic Boards, including Chair of Glasgow Film Theatre and the Scottish International Piano Competition. She is Chair of the Scottish Baroque Ensemble and she is the first woman Patron of the Glasgow Celtic Society for the promotion of Gaelic language and culture.
Interests include literature, classical music, opera, languages and shinty (her husband is President of the Camanachd Association). She speaks French, Italian and enough German to get by!! When time permits she sings first soprano with the University of Glasgow Choral Society. She was also voted Evening Times Scotswoman of the Year 2007-2008.
Business Innovation Consultant
Isobel is a business innovation consultant. Her role is to provide strategic innovation consultancy, creative thinking training, coaching and mentoring and she also speaks at global events on the subject of creativity and innovation.
Isobel’s passion is bringing out the best in organisations through their people – unlocking their potential and enabling them to achieve great things. She loves thinking differently, collaborating and paying it forward.
Isobel divides her time between her home in a loch side village in Scotland and her second home in southern Spain. She loves people, reading, film, travel and stepping out of her comfort zone! She is an active fundraiser and completed a jungle trek in Thailand raising £11,000 for two children’s charities close to her heart.
Isobel is on the Board of the West of Scotland Institute of Directors, a panel member of Prince’s Scottish Youth Business Trust and an ambassador for various philanthropic enterprises including the Ardoch Foundation and Columba 1400.
Conference Chair and Director at MacKay Hannah
Angus MacKay is one of the Directors and Founders of MacKay Hannah, the organisers of today’s event. Angus is a former Scottish Cabinet Minister and member of the Scottish Parliament. He previously worked as a policy advisor to Mo Mowlam MP and George Robertson MP and as a housing campaigner with Shelter (Scotland). He served as Convener of Finance in the City of Edinburgh Council, as Minister for Finance and Local Government in the Scottish Cabinet and was a member of the Scottish Parliament from 1999 to 2003.
Angus has extensive public policy understanding in a wide range of areas. His specialist areas include finance, transport, housing, planning, local government, legislative process and the Scottish Government.
He is the Director responsible for overseeing development of new events, partnerships and products. He has a particular focus on helping other organisations to match their policy and practice objectives with the best ways to contact and network with the appropriate audience they wish to reach.
Angus is also Chair of the newly founded Scottish Events and Festivals Association, the official trade body in Scotland providing leadership and representation for organisers, promoters and suppliers involved in the festivals, events and tourism industry throughout Scotland and the UK
Chief Executive, GTG Training
With a background in family business and volunteer reserve service, David was recruited to Arnold Clark Automobiles in 1999 to create an internal training and development team in order to support the medium to long term expansion plans of the Group. Arnold Clark is now Scotland’s largest privately owned company and the largest privately owned automotive dealer group in Europe; it is no coincidence that the Group invests more on staff training and development than any other comparable business.
David’s current role is Chief Executive of GTG Training Ltd., the training company which the Group purchased outright in 2004 as a means to channel training investment to maximum effect and to grow the overall provision of business essential training. He is responsible for the operation and development of Arnold Clark’s apprenticeship programme for c.650 apprentices, supervision of training for the Group’s c. 8,900 employees and for the continuous development of GTG Training’s external commercial sales to over 2,500 private and public sector organisations.
Previous roles with Arnold Clark include Direct Marketing Manager and Sales Development Manager. Immediately prior to assuming his appointment at GTG Training he headed the project team responsible for the Arnold Clark Management Development Programme and has subsequently championed the introduction of their highly successful Sales Academy in his capacity as head of Group Training & Development.
Some within the Scottish Business Community may also recognise him as Lieutenant-Colonel (Retired) David Scott where his final appointment was as a Staff Officer at Brigade Headquarters prior to which he had been Commanding Officer of 51 (Scottish) Brigade’s Regional Training Centre, a Territorial Army post working to standards set and audited by the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.
David is a very active Council Director of Glasgow Chamber of Commerce where he heads the Youth Employment Policy Group and is a member of both the Trades House of Glasgow and the Merchants House of Glasgow.
David is a UK Charity Trustee for the marine protection organisation, the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.

Equator’s Marketing Director and head of a team of 18 expert digital marketers. Martin has been online for almost 20 years and started using social networks back in 1992 – albeit in a much different form to what we’re used to today. In his career, Martin has worked in FMCG, financial services, B2B and Gaming and has spent the last 5 years building a strong and successful digital team in what is Scotland’s largest full service digital agency.

Liz has worked in Further Education for a total of 20 years, the last 17 years at Stevenson College Edinburgh. Liz teaches a wide range of programmes including Administration, Events and Human Resource Management. She spent 3 years prior to that at Carnegie College in Dunfermline.
Liz is enthusiastic about further education and was a mature student herself. She studied HND Organisational Administration at Adam Smith College of Further and Higher Education then went on to study Human Resource Management at Post Graduate level graduating from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development in 1995.
Liz also graduated from Stirling University with a Post Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Education with Teaching Qualification (Further Education) in 2004.

Linsey Cox, MD of LpC Events started off her career as a Nursery Nurse, moving on to receptionist in Estate Agency and worked her way up from there. She sold Rolls Royce Motor Cars (and won best sales person), was sales executive at Celtic Football Club,
Director of Development with Scottish Ballet, Business Development Manager at Hampden the National Stadium and set up LpC Events in 2008.
