OVERVIEW View Conference Agenda

This conference will address challenges critical to good governance in all public sector bodies: Delivering effective leadership, raising governance standards, managing risk and improving service delivery.

Building upon feedback from delegates at our previous conference on this theme, we have shaped an agenda which discusses the most pressing contemporary issues for public sector effective governance.

In the context of budget management pressures and rising demand for quality services the governance role asks more and more of those in positions of responsibility. At the same time the twin challenges of managing in a digital data age and the immediacy of social media mean that risks are higher than ever before. In an 'always on' culture, leaders are more visible, risk management has to be effective and responses to challenges must be swift and sure.

The pressure for our public sector leaders is to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of services through times of change and uncertainty. This conference will examine what good governance is, what it looks like and how it can be achieved.

Core themes to be addressed include:

  • Leadership and Governance
  • Good Practice
  • Complaints, Consumers and Regulation
  • Managing Risk
  • Change and Service Delivery
  • Crisis: Management and Media
  • Data Safe: The Digital Age Threat and Opportunity
  • Schemes of Delegation: What Matters?
  • Inclusion: Human Rights, Compliance and Best Practice
