Angus MacKay

Director, Policy, Partnership and Strategic Direction

Angus is the Director responsible for policy, partnership and strategic development in MacKay Hannah which he co-founded with Gail Hannah in 2003. Angus previously served as Finance Minister in the Scottish Cabinet and as Deputy Minister for Justice.  He was a member of the Scottish Parliament in which he served as the Member for Edinburgh South from 1999 to 2003.  Previously he served as a Councillor in the City of Edinburgh Council from 1995 to 1999 during which time he was Convenor of Finance. Angus has extensive public policy understanding in a wide range of areas.  His specialist areas include public services, finance, transport, housing, planning, local government, legislative process and the Scottish Government.  He previously worked as a policy advisor to Mo Mowlam MP, George Robertson MP and as a housing campaigner with Shelter.

Gail Hannah

Director, Business Management

Gail is the Director responsible for business management in MacKay Hannah which she co-founded with Angus MacKay in 2003.  Her main role within the business is to plan, organise and co-ordinate all of the business activities within MacKay Hannah.  She is also responsible for the HR, legal, financial and business administration functions within the company.  Gail has a background in Scottish local government with extensive experience of local government internal management, process and practice at a senior level.  She worked in the Scottish Parliament during its first term from 1999 to 2003.  She has policy experience in a range of areas particularly planning, licensing, the environment, emergency planning, HR and contracts and tender management.
