The Conference
Current, ongoing issues for procurement professionals focus on the pursuit of
efficient, transparent procurement that is sustainable, innovative and boosts
the economy. It is essential to continue discussion on topics such as how to
identify and address gaps in procurement training and knowledge, establishing better
communication between buyers and sellers and fostering open communication
between the public, private and third sectors.
What can be gained from assessing and taking an innovative approach to current
mindsets about procurement practice in the public sector? What are the skills gaps in
Scottish procurement and who is leading the way in addressing them? What is being
done to establish sustainable procurement frameworks in Scotland and what can be
learned from elsewhere? What's next on Scotland's public sector reform agenda and
how will this affect the work of procurement professionals?
This one-day conference - MacKay Hannah's Second Annual Public Procurement Conference - will bring together a mix of procurement professionals, policy makers, suppliers and other stakeholders to discuss key topics in procurement today. It is an opportunity to share best practice, further consider current challenges and trends in procurement and push towards excellent procurement practice and policy in Scotland.
