MacKay Hannah, in association with the PA Exchange, presents the first Annual Conference for Executive Secretaries and Personal Assistants across Scotland. This unique event is being launched exclusively for Scottish administrative professionals. Participants will hear from leading speakers and also select the “PA of the Year 2008” at the conference.

Keynote speaker Joan Serafini enjoyed a successful career at the highest level of Government. Joan is former Private Secretary to a host of Government Ministers in both the UK and Scotland - including former First Ministers Henry McLeish and Jack McConnell and in Westminster, former Industry Minister Allan Stewart MP and Secretary of State for Scotland Ian Lang. In 2002 Joan set up her own Event Management company based in Glasgow and at the time, ‘Scotland on Sunday’ said “Serafini takes her leave of the First Minister with arguably the best contacts book in Scotland!”

Delegates will:

Learn how to make it to the top of your profession using key trends and new technology
Develop effective communication styles – relationship building with your manager, colleagues and clients
Understand the role of the PA as manager
Know how to utilise, develop and make the most of your skill portfolio
Deal with multi-tasking, time management and managing the unexpected

PA of the Year Award 2008

We will be taking the opportunity to recognise and reward excellence in this profession. Managers and PA's across Scotland have submitted nominations for the "PA of the Year 2008 Award”. Nominations are currently being short listed by keynote speaker Joan Serafini and delegates will be asked to participate in a live electronic vote on the day for the person they consider to be most deserving of the award.
