22 Scottish companies feature in Britain’s leading private mid-market growth companies table

Published at the end of September 2017, the 13th Annual Sunday Times Grant Thornton Top Track 250 league table ranks Britain’s private mid-market growth companies with the biggest sales. This year's list features 22 Scottish companies. The companies' combined sales 15% accumulated to £5.7bn, with operating profits of £468m, creating more than 36,000 jobs.
However, it is not all good news. Scottish companies featuring on this list have declined from 29 to 22 in the space of just one year. In the private sector, SMEs make up 99% of the total number of businesses, employ over 1 million workers and contribute to over 40% of total private sector turnover in Scotland. Therefore, Scotland's mid-market sector is a vital component for providing growth in the economy.
How do we continue to support its growth? How can Scotland's mid-market thrive in a post-Brexit environment? Join us as we examine Scotland's mid-market business sector at our 4th annual conference, run in association with The University of Edinburgh Business School.
