OVERVIEW View Conference Agenda
This green investment conference is an excellent opportunity for all those interested in the role of the Green Investment Bank, in seeking funding from or considering partnering with the Bank to support investment in green infrastructure. Featuring Rt Hon Vince Cable MP, Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, and a range of other senior figures, this conference will take place as the Green Investment Bank moves into its fully operational phase.
The Green Investment Bank has already begun to fund projects. The Bank's initial investment, taken together with private investment, is expected to generate an additional £18 billion of investment for green infrastructure projects in the UK by 2014-15. The EU Commission has now ruled that the Bank is compliant with state aid rules, clearing the way for large-scale low carbon investments.
Key conference themes will include:
- The Bank’s Strategic Objectives and Partnerships
- The Domestic Green Investment Marketplace
- Future Opportunities and Challenges - Investing in Growth
- The Global Context
Senior speakers will discuss the five priority areas for investment, partnering with the Green Investment Bank and growing a thriving green investment industry. The conference will also look at the challenges of prioritising growth and picking winners and recognising, capturing and developing green IP.
The priority areas for Bank investment include offshore wind power generation, commercial and industrial waste processing and recycling, energy from waste generation, non-domestic energy efficiency and support for the Green Deal. Able to carry out a wide range of financial transactions and intended to stimulate the deployment of private sector capital and debt, the Bank represents a major opportunity for green infrastructure project developers.
How can the Green Investment Bank support your project and how can you work with the Bank in developing a low carbon internationally competitive green economy?

Professor Duncan MacLennan was very engaging and easy to listen to and I found Ewan Fraser's energy efficiency talk interesting. I also enjoyed Graeme Brown's insights into subsidies. Delegate feedback form, Housing 2015
