Directors
Gail Hannah and Angus MacKay are the Directors of MacKay Hannah. They founded the company in 2003 and it has since expanded to become the pre-eminent Scottish public policy conference organiser.
MacKay Hannah produces its own conferences from conception to completion, focussing on contemporary public policy issues and seeking to bring together leading thinkers and practitioners in each policy field. The company also partners with a wide range of public, private and voluntary sector organisations in assisting in the production of conferences for other agencies.
Gail Hannah
Gail Hannah has a background in Scottish local government with extensive experience of local government internal management, process and practice at a senior level. She has worked with Council Leaders, Chief Executives, Departmental Directors, Trade Unions and public sector partners. She was closely involved in planning and implementation for Scottish local government reorganisation in 1994.
Gail also has policy experience in a range of areas, particularly planning, licensing, the environment, emergency planning, HR and contracts and tendering management.
Gail is the Director responsible for managing implementation and delivery in MacKay Hannah.
Angus MacKay
Angus MacKay is a former Finance Minister in the Scottish Parliament in which he served as the member for Edinburgh South from 1999 to 2003. He also served as Deputy Minister for Justice during this period.
Previously he served as a Councillor in the City of Edinburgh Council from 1995 to 1999 during which time he was Convenor of Finance.
Angus has extensive public policy understanding in a wide range of areas. His specialist areas include finance, transport, housing, planning, local government, legislative process and the Scottish Government. He previously worked as a policy advisor to Mo Mowlam MP, George Robertson MP and as a housing campaigner with Shelter (Scotland).
Angus is the Director responsible for policy, policy analysis and strategic development in MacKay Hannah.
